Mr Iris is my scented personification of Prada L’Homme - an elegant woody floral perfume with prominent notes of iris, violet, neroli, and amber. Like the story I’m about to tell, Prada L’Homme feels like a gentle soak in a stylish, elegant hotel. One undertaken by a good-looking businessman with time to kill on a work trip.

The year is 2016. The location: New York in spring. A businessman, Mr Iris, is on a work trip and staying in plush quarters - a grand hotel with luxury facilities.

It’s his afternoon off, and he decides to take a bath in his room. The bath is big, sumptuous, and made of marble, with a lavish array of soaps, creams, oils, and moisturisers.

He runs himself a bath and puts on some music - a little downtempo to help him unwind. He adds bubble bath to the water: a tranquil mix of cardamom and neroli, smooth and cosy.

He dips a toe in to test the temperature. Just right, he thinks, as he climbs inside and closes his eyes, dropping below the bubbles momentarily.

The bubbles are soft and airy and fill the room with a wonderful aroma, wafts of iris and violet intertwining in a gentle, graceful dance.

After his bath, Mr Iris heads to the balcony for a spot of reading and gazing. His balcony overlooks Central Park and the various buildings around it, offering a spectacular view of New York from up high.

He sits in a white dressing gown, admiring the view, with a cup of tea to his left and a scented candle to his right - its aroma smooth and woody, with notes of amber and cedarwood.

It’s not every day Mr Iris gets to unwind like this. But when he does, you can bet your life he savours it.
